Chiesa del Carmine: stay in the heart of Italy for a unique trip in Umbria
It is a beautiful 8 bedroom (6 doubles and 2 singles) country house nestling among hills in a peaceful valley, surrounded by meadows, woods, vineyards and olive groves. It is reached via a ‘strada bianca’ – white (unmade) road – and is approximately 1 kilometre from the main road. The views from the church and house are beautiful. There is an atmosphere of peace and quiet although the property is not isolated. The nearest village of Pierantonio and its shops are a 10 minute drive away, Umbertide, the nearest small town is about 15 minutes and Perugia is about 25 minutes away.
The property is divided into two structures, the first the ancient church and the second the farm house.
The ancient church features a large well equipped kitchen, a dining room and a large drawing room in the main section of the church.
The restored farmhouse features 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms: 5 ensuite double bedrooms, and 1 additional double room with a family bathroom next to it, which can be shared with the single room (with a hand basin) nearby. On the ground floor there is another small single room with a hand basin, which can share a bathroom wherever is convenient.
The 15 x 5.5 m swimming pool is located in a quiet and secluded position. It has a shallow section leading into the main pool which is perfect for young children. There are 14 sunbeds, 6 large umbrellas, tables and chairs, outdoor heated shower and a toilet in the underground pool house.
Your Umbrian Wedding
The landscaped gardens, with shaded dining areas, fountains, private terraces and a pool pergola, inspired by the woodland setting of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, are some of the most romantic and beautiful of settings at which to hold your special event.
The chapel which dates back to the 11th century creates a stunning backdrop for any wedding ceremony.
A grand piano is the focus piece of this spectacular building and can be used during the reception accompanied by a vocalist, jazz band or even a quartet.
