The term Talía comes from the Sicilian and means “look, admire”. That’s what everyone says when they enter the garden of the boutique hotel, an environment of peace and tranquility where a stop is a must. But the word Talía also comes from Greek, obviously with another meaning. In fact, in the Greek language it means thallo, a verb, translated as flourish, prosper, be luxuriant. Moreover, Talía in Ancient Greece was one of the nine Muses, the followers of Apollo, the one that depicted comedy and poetry.
Casa Talía, the gay-friendly boutique hotel in beautiful Modica
In Talía we talk about slowliving. But what does it mean? It’s the simple living without the worries related to work, home, bills to pay. Living every moment, without haste, thus savouring every phase of one’s life. At Casa Talía you simply have to abandon yourself and think about yourself, forgetting everything else. Leave the clock in the drawer, turn off the alarm clock, time is marked only by the light of the sky. If you are looking for a place to have a regenerating break, breathing the scents and enjoying the flavors of this fantastic land, then you’ve found it! Casa Talía is the place for you!
The hotel has been skilfully renovated by the two owners, professional architects, Marco and Viviana. They have equipped the structure with the most modern comforts, but have not wanted to affect the original structure, leaving an original and characteristic environment, unique in style and decor. The entire building is inspired by the Moroccan riads, a culture that Sicily has been able to get to know well. The rooms do not communicate with each other, but all overlook an internal garden, a place of meeting and peace. The two architects have paid great attention to the choice of materials. They are all natural, bio-compatible and traditional. Visible stone for the walls, lime plaster, reed roofs and floors in polychrome ceramics or stone.
Marco, Viviana and all the staff welcome each couple and each guest with a smile. Openly gay-friendly, they show the warm Sicilian hospitality, doing their best to make sure that this location is not just a simple hotel, but a place where you can feel good and be yourself.
Houses, rooms and garden
Talía offers two types of accommodation. The Houses are reserved for guests who want their holiday to be an “emotional experience”. No anonymous rooms of a hotel, but unusual and unique environments, unique and never seen before. An alternative elegance, with an extravagant style. An experience never tried before, for a holiday that you can hardly forget. Talia also offers these environments in Cefalù, Syracuse and Ortiga.
The rooms, on the other hand, are simpler, but still characterized by a typically Sicilian decor, with details that refer to all the cultures that have passed through this island. Each room is equipped with all comforts, air conditioning, safe, digital TV, Internet connection, minibar and independent entrance with electronic card.
And now we come to the inner garden of Talía. From here you can access the rooms, old houses finely restored, arranged on different natural levels of the land, each with its own terrace or balcony and a magnificent panoramic view of the ancient city.
